It is very important for English Study Tours to have your full trust and confidence. We consider the protection of your personal information extremely important and a top priority, therefore your personal information is considered by us to be:

  • confidential
  • private
  • used only for the purposes you intended
  • definitely not released to third parties
More information about your privacy while at English Study Tours:
  • All of the personal information that you have given us is handled in the most confidential manner.
  • Information such as your name, postal and email address, telephone number, etc., are private and confidential.
  • We store your personal information in a secure location, which is only accessible by staff specifically entrusted with the responsibility of using your private information for the purposes in which you intended it to be used.
  • Your personal information will not be released to any third parties, except as required by law or is important to judicial or governmental investigations or proceedings.
  • We do not sell or distribute in any way, to any third party, the personal information that you have entrusted to us.
  • Our website does NOT have the ability to track specific visitors; only gross figures that do not represent personal information. For example, we compile statistics that show the daily number of visitors to our sites, the daily requests we receive for particular files on our web sites and what countries those requests come from. This information in no way contain personal information. Top
 
Refund and Cancellation Policy
 
  • For all enrollments: in order to receive a full refund, the student must submit, in writing, a notice informing us that they are canceling.  The notice must be received by us at least 14 days before the class start date for which the student enrolled.
Refund and Cancellation Policy for English Study Tours Enrollment
  • All notices of cancellation must be submitted in writing.
  • In order to receive a full deposit refund, the student must submit, in writing, a notice informing English Study Tours that he or she is canceling.  The notice must be received by us at least 14 days (preferably 31 days) before the class start date for which the student enrolled in order to be eligible for a full tuition / tuition deposit refund. The registration fee is non-refundable. The activity deposit is non-refundable if the cancellation occurs within 30 days of the first day of class.
  • If a student cancels after this 14-day deadline, but before 24 hours before the first day of the session, then he or she will receive a 50% refund of all tuition deposits made.
  • If a student cancels after this 24 hour deadline but before the first day of session, then he or she will not receive a tuition deposit refund.
  • The balance of a student's tuition payment and all activities fees are due on the first day of the session, unless the student registers through an agent, in which case 100% of the tuition fee may be due upon registration. If the student cancels after arriving in class the following refund policy applies:
  • If the student cancels in the first week of the term, the student shall be refunded 50% of his or her tuition. If the student cancels in the second week of the term, the student shall be refunded 25% of his or her tuition.  If the student cancels during or after the third week of the term, the student shall receive a prorated tuition refund minus a 25% cancellation fee. There is no refund for cancellation in the last week of the student's participation.  There are no partial week refunds. Students must submit a cancellation request in writing by 2pm on the Friday prior to the week being cancelled.
  • If a student is expelled from the school after course commencement, no refund shall be given in relation to unused tuition fees.  For students in a Homestay, one-week notice will be given to the Homestay informing them of the expulsion, and the need for the student to find alternative accommodation.  All Homestay fees will be refunded on a pro-rated basis, less the Placement Fee.
  • Registration fees are non-refundable in any cancellation scenario.
  • Students registered through an agent may have signed contracts
    with the agent that may have separate cancellation penalties, no refund policies, or home-country-only conditions. It is the responsibility of the student to know about his or her agent's special cancellation and refund policies.
  • A compassionate refund due to exceptional circumstances may be given at sole discretion of School Director.  A 27% administration fee will be deducted from any unused tuition fees.  Top
Accommodations Cancellation and Refund Policy
  • In cases where ESL Hawaii has located non-Homestay accommodations for the student, and the student cancels his or her accommodations within 21 days prior to the first day the student agreed to occupy the accommodation, the student will not be refunded the placement fee.

a. Any deposits paid to agents or landlords in connection with the reservation of the accommodations, may or may not be returned to the student depending on the individual third-party rules connected with the accommodation in question. 

b. The student should be aware of the terms and conditions of the reservations for their accommodations.

c. PLEASE NOTE: additional cancellation fees – sometimes as much as $350 or more – may be assessed by third party agents who were responsible for guaranteeing accommodations. Top

  • If the student cancels his or her Homestay anytime up to 30 days prior to the first day the student agreed to occupy the Homestay, the Homestay fees paid will be refunded in full, less the Homestay Placement Fee.

    a. If the student cancels his or her Homestay within 29 and up to 14 days prior to the first day the student agreed to occupy the Homestay, the student will be assessed a $300 cancellation fee penalty.  The Homestay Placement Fee will not be refunded. 

    b. If the student cancels his or her Homestay 13 or fewer days prior to the first day the student agreed to occupy the Homestay, there will be no refunds.

    c. Students must query their agent about the possibility of any additional and / or different Homestay cancellation and refund policies that may have additional or different consequences.Top

 
General Guideline Policies
  • Students who are absent will not be refunded the money for the session for which they missed. Top
  • Students who choose to take a leave of absence will not be refunded any money for the amount of time that they are gone.
  • Students who miss more than five days of class will be dismissed from the program unless there was an urgent need to be absent, such as, for example, serious illness. Top
  • Students who choose to register through an agent are responsible for any fees incurred by that agency.
  • Any student that is denied a visa will be given a full refund. The refund will be mailed to the student within thirty days from the date of notification.
  • Refunds are given thirty days after the request of cancellation is submitted. The refund may be picked up in person or it will be mailed to either to the student’s agency or home address if the student is not in Hawaii or has left Hawaii. Top
 
Total Immersion English Only Policy
 
  • English Study Tours deep English immersion environment is a foundational part of the learning process and, as such, is taken very seriously. The rule requires that English be spoken at all times during any of our sessions. Exceptions to the rule are as follows: in emergencies; phone conversations to the student's native country. Top
 
Medical Insurance Policy
 
  • Students coming to Hawaii to study with English Study Tours must have full medical insurance.

Minimum Requirements for Entry into the English Study Tours Program
 
  • Minimum age requirement is 17 years old. 17-year-old students must have a parent or guardian co-sign the application (under the student's signature).
  • Minimum English proficiency skill level: Level 3 or low intermediate. Because the student will be exposed to a lot of English during the day, it is recommended that the student have at least low intermediate English skills. If there is any question about your skill level, please contact us to arrange a telephone English proficiency test.
